Ink Flush leaking issues

Details
We regret to inform you that we have identified an issue with some MAXIFY printers where a small amount of ink may leak outside the printer when certain functions are performed.

When the function “Ink Flush” (which is used for maintenance) is performed a few times, or when the print head is replaced, a small amount of ink may leak to the outside, around the right side of the printer.

Affected Printer Serial Numbers:

GX6040:    KNDP00001 to KNDP00386

GX6050:    KNDM00001 to KNDM01214

                   KNDN00001 to KNDN00127

GX7040:    KNEA00001 to KNEA00122

GX7050:    KNDY00001 to KNDY01288

                   KNGT00001 to KNGT00027

The serial number is located on the rear of the printer or on the label on the box.

We recommend that you avoid performing the function “Ink Flush” and replacing the print head as possible.

To immediately avoid ink leakage you can update the printer firmware.

Please note that the updated firmware is for temporary use only, to prevent any possible ink leakage. If your printer is affected as described above, updated firmware will prevent ink leakage by restricting the effectiveness of the function “Ink Flush”. So, recovery of print quality issues (that would require the use of the “Ink Flush” function or print head replacement) may not be possible.

As this is just a temporary solution, we strongly recommend that if your serial number is listed above, your printer is inspected/repaired (free of charge) by one of our authorized Service Centres for a permanent solution.

This firmware is available for Windows and Mac.
